Keys & Building Access
Upon arrival, guests will receive a building access card and a room key. For safety and security, buildings are locked 24 hours a day.
- Guests are required to carry their building access card at all times to gain access to the building.
- Guests are prohibited from duplicating keys.
- All keys and access cards are the property of McMaster University Housing & Conference Services and must be returned at check-out.
- Lost or stolen keys or access cards should be reported to the Guest Service Centre immediately.

Each guest will receive a unique username and password upon check-in, used to connect up to three devices to the McMaster networks.

Parking
Overnight Parking on Campus
McMaster Parking Services uses Honk Mobile’s convenient mobile app for parking registration.
Overnight parking for summer accommodation guests is available in LOT G (behind PGCLL) and H (behind Ron Joyce Stadium). Rates are $8/day on weekends, and $12/day on weekdays May to August.
To facilitate your arrival on campus? We recommend downloading the app and setting up your account prior to parking on campus.
HONK is available for download in the App Store, Google Play, or honkmobile.com.
If you are attending a conference or event on campus please refer to specific parking instructions provided in your event’s pre-arrival e-mail – a special promo code may be provided.
Registering Your Vehicle Using Honk Mobile:
- Park on campus in Lot G, or H. Please click here for an interactive map of the McMaster campus.
- Open the Honk app and click the Zone ID tile in the top left corner of the app and type in 4922. You can also text 75498 with your zone # of 4922, or Click Here.Please ensure you are using zone ID 4922 to access the discounted summer parking rates.
- Click on the words “Start Time” to access the drop down menu of options (“Park now”, “Select a start time”, or “Set a duration”). Choosing “Set a duration” allows you to register a specifc end date/time; it is important that your “end time” matches the date/time you will leave campus.
- Click the blue “Book spot for $(total)” button.
- Confirm your license plate number is correct.
- Select your payment option or add a new card.
- Click “Pay ($total) and Park” to complete payment and officially register your vehicle.Important Notes: Registering your vehicle with HONK does not reserve a specific parking space in lot G or H. Registration grants authorization to park in any available spot within these lots.?Other parking lots on campus within proximity to PGCLL and Les Prince include Stadium Underground and Lot E. Please note these lots operate at the prevailing McMaster Parking rates and not the discounted daily conference rate, and that all McMaster parking lots are subject to availability at time of arrival.
Unregistered vehicles will be ticketed at the owner’s expense.
Accommodations
Accommodations
PGCLL and Les Prince Hall are used as the primary accommodation buildings on campus from May to August.
All suites include a chair, bed linens, body towel, pillow, blanket, desk, closet, garbage can, recycling bin, soap, shampoo and a working smoke detector.
- Each single-occupancy room contains one (1) bed.
- Each double-occupancy room contains two (2) beds.
Please report any issues or damage in your room upon check-in to the Guest Service Centre. Charges will apply for any missing items or damages discovered after departure.
For adjustments to your booking please e-mail reserve@mcmaster.ca . Cancellations must be received 48 hours in advance to be eligible for a full refund. Cancellation within 48 hours will be subject to 1 night’s stay plus applicable tax.
Complimentary luggage storage is available through the Guest Service Centres. Luggage must be claimed on the same day as departure, as it cannot be stored beyond that day.
Please note:
- Safes are not provided. Valuable personal belongings such as passports, laptops, cameras, phones, or money cannot be stored at the Guest Service Centre.
- Extra mattresses, cots, and cribs are not available from the Guest Service Centre, and not permitted in-room.
Checking In
Check In – 3:00 p.m.
Unless otherwise specified in your confirmation e-mail our standard check in time is 3:00 p.m.
Valid photo I.D. matching the name on the reservation must be presented upon check-in.
Checking Out
Check Out – 10:00 a.m.
Standard check out time is 10:00 a.m. on your scheduled day of departure.
- Late check out requests are reviewed on a case by case basis and can be addressed with the Service Desk.
- If a late checkout is approved the following charges will apply:
- Between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. – complimentary
- Between 12:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. – additional $25 fee
- Late checkout requests of 2:00 p.m. onward are subject to an additional night’s rate, and considered an extension of your existing reservation.
- Unauthorized late check out may result in additional nightly charges, or removal and storage of items from the room.

Public Transit: Explore safe and convenient transportation options to get to McMaster or venture off campus using the Hamilton Street Railway (HSR) bus system.
GO Transit: There is a GO bus terminal available on campus, on the west side of campus between Thode Library and Mary E. Keyes Residence, with train service available from West Harbour and Aldershot GO stations. For more GO options please click here.

Bask in the warmer temperatures with a scenic stroll beside Cootes Paradise, followed by the “Perfect Pint” on The Phoenix Crafthouse & Grill patio! The campus pub is located in the Refectory Building, one of McMaster’s five original buildings opened in 1930.
Another McMaster staple is the Willy Dog Hot Dog Stand, located in the heart of campus outside Mills Memorial Library. Please note: hours may vary and are subject to change.

Discretionary Removal McMaster
Conference & Event Services (CES) reserves the right to remove any guest from the premises at any time, at its sole discretion, for any reason deemed necessary. Forfeiture of Payment In the event of removal, guests will forfeit any payments made for their accommodation, and no refunds will be issued.
Pets & Service Animals
Pets are not permitted on campus. Approved service animals are permitted with proper written notice and documentation submitted prior to check in. Please contact reserve@mcmaster.ca to request a Service/Support Animal form.
