Keys & Building Access 

Upon arrival, guests will receive a building access card and a room key. For safety and security, buildings are locked 24 hours a day.  

• Guests are required to carry their building access card at all times to gain access to the building.  
• Guests are prohibited from duplicating keys.  
• All keys and access cards are the property of McMaster University Housing & Conference Services and must be returned at check-out. 
• Lost or stolen keys or access cards should be reported to the Guest Service Centre immediately. 

Wireless Internet

Each guest will receive a unique username and password upon check-in, used to connect up to three devices to the McMaster networks.

Overnight Parking on Campus

McMaster Parking Services uses Honk Mobile’s convenient mobile app for parking registration.

Overnight parking for summer accommodation guests is available in Lot G and H. Rates are $8/day on weekends and $12/day on weekdays from May to August.

To facilitate your arrival on campus, we recommend downloading the app and setting up your account prior to parking on campus.

HONK is available for download in the App Store, Google Play, or at honkmobile.com.

Registering Your Vehicle Using Honk Mobile

1. Park on campus in Lot G or H. Please click here for an interactive map of the McMaster campus.
2. Open the Honk app and tap the Zone ID tile in the top left corner, then enter 4922. You must use the correct zone ID to access discounted summer parking or promo codes.You can also text 75498 with zone number 4922, or click here.
3. Ensure Hourly Parking is selected and tap Search.
4. Tap the Set Duration button under Start Time.
5. Set the end time to match the date and time you will leave campus.
6. Tap the blue Book spot for $(total) button.
7. Confirm your license plate number and that the start and end times are correct.
8. If you have been provided a promo code, tap Add Promo under the Total and apply it.
9. Select your payment method (Apple Pay, PayPal, or add a new card).
10. Tap Pay ($total) and Park (or Park for Free if a promo code was used) to complete your transaction and registration.

Registering your vehicle with HONK does not reserve a specific parking space in Lot G or H. Registration grants authorization to park in any available spot within these lots.

Other parking lots on campus within proximity to PGCLL and Les Prince include Stadium Underground and Lot E. Please note these lots operate at the prevailing McMaster Parking rates and not the discounted daily conference rate, and that all McMaster parking lots are subject to availability at time of arrival.

Unregistered vehicles will be ticketed at the owner’s expense.

Accommodations 

PGCLL and Les Prince Hall are used as the primary accommodation buildings on campus from May to August.  

All suites include a chair, bed linens, body towel, pillow, blanket, desk, closet, garbage can, recycling bin, soap, shampoo and a working smoke detector.

• Each single-occupancy room contains one (1) bed.
• Each double-occupancy room contains two (2) beds.

Please report any issues or damage in your room upon check-in to the Guest Service Centre. Charges will apply for any missing items or damages discovered after departure.

Modifying Your Reservation

• To modify your existing reservation please e-mail reserve@mcmaster.ca (Monday to Friday – 8:30am to 4:30pm).
• Cancellations must be received 48 hours in advance to be eligible for a refund (less a $25 administrative fee).
• Cancellation within 48 hours will be subject to 1 night’s stay plus applicable tax.

Luggage Storage

Limited luggage storage is available through the Guest Service Centre in PGCLL. Luggage must be claimed on the same day as departure, as it cannot be stored beyond that day.

McMaster is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged luggage. Items stored with the Service Desk are kept at the owner’s risk.

Notes 

• Safes are not provided. Valuable personal belongings such as passports, laptops, cameras, phones, or money cannot be stored at the Guest Service Centre.
• Extra mattresses, cots, and cribs are not available from the Guest Service Centre, and not permitted in-room.

Check In – 3:00 p.m.

Unless otherwise specified in your confirmation e-mail our standard check in time is 3:00 p.m.

Valid photo I.D. matching the name on the reservation must be presented upon check-in.

Check Out – 10:00 a.m.

Check out time is 10:00 a.m. on your scheduled departure date. Keys must be returned to the Service Desk in the lobby of PGCLL, or to the drop box in your residence building. Please be sure to scan the QR code if using the drop box.

• Late check out requests are reviewed on a case by case basis and can be addressed with the Service Desk.
• If a late checkout is approved the following charges will apply:
  • Between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. – complimentary
  • Between 12:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. – additional $25 fee
• Late checkout requests of 2:00 p.m. onward are subject to an additional night’s rate, and considered an extension of your existing reservation.
• Unauthorized late check out may result in additional nightly charges, or removal and storage of items from the room.

At Your Service

Our Guest Service Desk is located in the lobby of Peter George Centre for Living and Learning (PGCLL) and available 24 hours for check-in and guest assistance. Accepted forms of payment include Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.

Public Transit: Explore safe and convenient transportation options to get to McMaster or venture off campus using the Hamilton Street Railway (HSR) bus system.

GO Transit: There is a GO bus terminal available on campus, on the west side of campus between Thode Library and Mary E. Keyes Residence, with train service available from West Harbour and Aldershot GO stations. For more GO options please click here.

Guests can access the Pulse Fitness Centre at a discounted rate of $10 per person, per day. This includes gym access and available facilities during scheduled drop-in times, including swimming, courts, fields, and tracks. Please visit the David Braley Athletic Centre (DBAC) and proceed to the Joan Buddle Service Desk. Provide the discount code Summer26 to purchase a day or multi-day pass and complete the online waiver.

Visit Hospitality Services “Open Now” web page for a list of on-campus dining options currently open and ready to take your order!

Bask in the warmer temperatures with a scenic stroll beside Cootes Paradise, followed by the “Perfect Pint” on The Phoenix Crafthouse & Grill patio! The campus pub is located in the Refectory Building, one of McMaster’s five original buildings opened in 1930.

Another McMaster staple is the Willy Dog Hot Dog Stand, located in the heart of campus outside Mills Memorial Library. Please note: hours may vary and are subject to change.

Discretionary Removal McMaster

Conference & Event Services (CES) reserves the right to remove any guest from the premises at any time, at its sole discretion, for any reason deemed necessary. Forfeiture of Payment In the event of removal, guests will forfeit any payments made for their accommodation, and no refunds will be issued.

Pets & Service Animals

Pets are not permitted on campus. Approved service animals are permitted with proper written notice and documentation submitted prior to check in. Please contact reserve@mcmaster.ca to request a Service/Support Animal form.

Safety & Security

Guests are encouraged to download the McMaster Campus Safety App. The app will provide safety alerts, including campus closures and emergency instructions.
